Odisha Gateball Union (OGU) Red beat OGU Blue 13-9 in the final to win the title in the 4th Indian Open Gateball Tournament at Kalinga Stadium here today. Earlier in the semifinals, OGU Red beat OGU Green 17-13, while OGU Blue got the better of Odisha Juniors 17-7.
Ranjan Nanda (captain), Ranjan Patra, Niranjan Mangaraj, Suresh Kandi, Rajendra Murmu, Arabinda Mohapatra represented the OGU Red, while Satish Prusty (captain), Subhranshu Pattnaik, Biswa Ranjan Mishra, Avishek Mohanty and Bikash Pattnaik turned out for OGU Blue.
Altogether 24 teams, including 12 from Odisha, participated in the two-day tournament, which was organised by Indian Gateball Union (IGU), Bhubaneswar. Housing and Urban Development Special Secretary S Laxmipathy handed over the trophy at the closing function.
